Schools

Our expectations
We make every effort to match your specified role with the person we send to you.  We expect them to be enthusiastic, adaptable,  well prepared and ready to go from the moment they arrive at your school.
Whether you need someone for the day, a whole term or on a permanent contract  we can help you.
Beacon Education provides Teachers, Instructors, Cover Supervisors and LSAs throughout Essex, Southend, Thurrock.
Whatever the role, all should be:
  • Punctual – arriving at least 30 minutes before your pupils and available for 30 minutes at the end of the school day.
  • Professional – work should be  marked and a record of work left  for the class teacher
  • Flexible and adaptable – able to deliver set work or provide appropriate activities when necessary.
  • Well presented suitably dressed and keen to set an example to pupils.

Safeguarding
It is vital that the teachers we send you are properly qualified and compliant with current safeguarding requirements. To this end we:
  • Conduct a face to face interview at registration.
  •  Confirm qualifications requiring sight of original documents.
  • Obtain a minimum of two references.
  • Obtain an  Enhanced DBS Disclosure Report using the Update Service when required.
  • Undertake Identity and address checks.
  • Confirm the candidates eligibility to work in the UK.
When teachers or support staff  are  first placed you will receive a profile which confirms all of the above are in place.

Keeping You informed
Beacon will keep you up-to-date with supply staff availability and, where we have staff in place, will call regularly to monitor progress and ensure that expectations are being met.
For longer term placements we may ask you to complete a performance review.

Every school we work with is important to us and we value every contact. We like to stay in touch but you won't find us making speculative, unsolicited calls.

Your feedback is always welcome.
